Bro bro, did you know, your post saved me countless hours of searching for a solution ? Just a few hours ago, I migrated a website from dev folder to root domain. Once I did, I got the error as you did. 401 cannot log in.Hi,
I solved the issue doing that procedure: using cPanel, found all the files and folders of “j2xml” and “eshiol” in various locations – as /public_html/media/, /public_html/language/en-GB/, /public_html/administrator/language/en-GB/, /public_html/administrator/manifests/packages/, /public_html/plugins/system/, /public_html/libraries/, /public_html/administrator/manifests/libraries/.
I also deleted the folder /public_html/plugins/system/basicauth.
Since, everything is working fine.
I was like, what the hell, it seems that the user is already logged in. Same issue for the frontpage too!
Since I do not use J2XML I renamed the 'basicauth' folder and the site worked. Now comes the question, what is up with Joomla 4 ? Why does it have so many errors compare to Joomla 3 ? I mean, I love using it but just basic stuff such as migrating a site can be a catastrophe, jesus! Thanks heaps man
